1. Error #36 when producing
large JPEG images !
This problem that happened when producing JPG
images larger than 1MB has finally been fixed.
For HTML2JPG Personal Edition: use version 4.0 or later.
For HTML2JPG Enterprise Version: use version 2.0 or later.
For HTML2JPG Blackbox: use version 1.05 or later.
1) HTML2JPG doesn't scroll down
for certain pages and only captures the visible part !
Usually this happens with pages that are build
using 'frames'. There is no real solution for this problem as the different
frames could have different lenghts resulting in a very strange final
image.
Some free website providers also automatically include a kind of 'hidden
frame' in the webpages from their customers. No scrolling will be possible
for these pages using the Personal Edition. By using the Enterprise
or the Blackbox Version and setting a large enough virtual
browser size, you will be able to capture this kind of pages.
We have also experienced scrolling problems
with pages containing certain info in the DOCTYPE tag since Internet
Explorer version 6. This is the case for pages with DOCTYPE containing
"-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN". Unfortunately we
have no solution for this kind of pages.
2) Does HTML2JPG capture
the whole 'horizontal' content ?
HTML2JPG Personal Edition will only scroll
vertically and capture the whole vertical content.
Webpages that need horizontal scrolling are rare because not really
user-friendly.
A trick to try to still capture the whole horizontal content is to change
your display resolution to its maximum and run HTML2JPG maximised in
this resolution.
With HTML2JPG Enterprise Version you can specify
a large value for the width of the virtual browser-size, you're not
limited to your desktop size.
HTML2JPG Blackbox can auto-detect the page-width and capture the whole
horizontal content.
3) Can HTML2JPG capture
Word or Excel documents that are displayed in a browser window
No, it doesn't ! These types of files cannot
be displayed natively by the browser.
4) Can HTML2JPG capture PDF documents
that are displayed in a browser window ?
Yes, but it cannot scroll down this type of document.
5) In manual mode HTML2JPG
works allright but in batch mode I get blank images !
This problem is fixed in HTML2JPG version 2.3 or higher. Temporary this
problem can be solved by increasing the setting 'Waiting between 2 images'
to for example 10 seconds.
6) Can HTML2JPG work as a background service ?
No, it cannot. The webpage has to be displayed in the foreground to
be able to create the correct image.
If you don't want to see the webpages on your desktop while the images
get produced, you will need the Enterprise or the Blackbox
Version.
7) Can I do other things on my computer while
HTML2JPG is doing batch-conversions ?
No, you shouldn't. This will interfere with the webpage being displayed
in the foreground and the image produced will be wrong. Just launch
HTML2JPG in batch-mode before going for lunch... or use the Enterprise
or Blackbox Version which do not need to have the webpages
visible on the foreground.
1) The produced images look ugly,
it seems like most colors have dissappeared!
That's probably because the computer that runs
HTML2JPG Blackbox has only 256 colors enabled in it's Windows desktop
settings. Change this setting to 'millions of colors' and it should
be solved.
